“Luke 2:
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Ready for Christmas Sales?

It seems that business are getting ready earlier and earlier every year for Christmas sales. While the Christmas season really starts in November, as children of God we should celebrate Christmas year round.

After all, Christmas is about the birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus. It’s not about the presents and the ribbons or any of that. Yes, I love to see Pam, Jeremiah, Stephanie, Connor and Camryn when they open their gifts. After all, that’s part of the tradition of the season.

I’m talking about the reason for the season.

I’m talking about remembering Jesus year round. Happy Holidays is becoming a common phrase we hear. When I was in the workforce, I was told that I could not say Merry Christmas to our clients. While I still said Merry Christmas, I wasn’t trying to offend anyone. Rather, I felt it was my duty to share Jesus.

Once, I was instructed to go out to the production line and tell someone to stop talking about Jesus as it made the other workers uncomfortable. It might offend someone! However, I knew the language used out there and it made me uncomfortable. So I refused to tell someone else they could not talk about the Lord.

Christmas Year Round

So why do I think we need to celebrate Christmas year round? Because the gift of salvation is a gift that is given year round. Our Heavenly Father just doesn’t offer salvation, healings or blessings from October to December, so why should we only acknowledge Jesus’ birthday during those months.

“Luke 14:23
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

Compel them

We were told to go to the highways and byways in order to compel people to come hear the Good News. A part of the Good News is the birth of Jesus. Jesus’ birth was great news to the shepherds in the field and the wisemen who searched all over for him.

As children of God, we should want everyone to know about the Gospel.

It was so wonderful: a heavenly host of angels proclaimed it.

It was such so majestic: a star from God lit the way.

It was so fulfilling: his birth was foretold by the prophets.

Let me encourage you today to proclaim the birth of Jesus. Not just His birth, but his life, crucifixion, and resurrection. Through Jesus, we can make Heaven our home. Everyone should share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus year round!

May God Bless you in you walk for him.
